London – Porto striker Jackson Martinez will decide his future at the end of the season, while Chelsea will send scouts to watch the Colombian this weekend.
The 27-year old has attracted interest from a number of big European clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and AS Roma. The Colombia international is keen to move away from Portugal after Porto dropped in form this season, trailing behind leaders Benfica by 15 points.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is prepared to splash £25 million on Jackson, who has scored 18 goals in 26 appearances, this summer and will send scouts this weekend to watch the striker.
“At the moment there is not any kind of negotiation for Jackson Martinez,” said Jackson’s agent Manuel Manso.
“Until May we will not talk with any team. He’s focused on the end of the season with Porto – once the championship is finished we will see.”
Meanwhile, according to Kick Socca sources in Spain, Chelsea are prepared to negotiate a deal with Atletico Madrid for striker Diego Costa.
If Chelsea faces Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final then the Spanish club will have to pay the Blues £6 million for the on-loan goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to play.
